Joana has lived in Colorado for the past 16 years. As a working mother with a 16-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter, she finds that keeping the family active allows for quality family time.
She has prepared her son for a number of children’s triathlons and teaches her children to read nutrition labels. One of her main goals as a fitness professional, mother, and former member of Colorado’s Governor’s Council for Physical Fitness is to instill a love of fitness in children. Her experience as a ballet dancer in the Ballet West Academy and an NBA cheerleader informs how she covers fitness for television and social media.
