Lokay serves at Fox 5 as a Primary Evening Anchor and Show Host in Washington DC-Baltimore Area. When he was a kid, Jim had this knack for talking to just about anyone and an obsession with being near a microphone. He worked the rooms at family parties, he recited current events for total strangers, and he used any excuse to make announcements over the loudspeaker at the bowling alley his dad ran for years.
He did play-by-play for California University athletics (go Vulcans!), but during the 2000 elections, his passion became news. For two years, he ran the overnight operations for a radio news operation in Pittsburgh. He worked each night from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., writing, editing, and anchoring newscasts for several stations.
He spent two years at Syracuse, N.Y-based News 10 Now (now known as YNN Central New York) where he anchored evening newscasts and reported. He also returned to KDKA News, where he served as the station’s traffic reporter, general assignment reporter, and a fill-in anchor on several newscasts, including the weekday morning news, weekday evening news, weekend morning news, and weekend evening news. Lokay began at WCVB-TV in October 2011, where he serves as a weekday morning general assignment reporter and weekend morning anchor. Jim left WCVB-TV in October 2015. His final day at KDKA-TV was Oct. 14, 2011.
