Duncan serves at CBS as a national correspondent and anchor of the Sunday edition of the CBS Weekend News. She has covered such notable reports as allegations against R Kelly, Bill Cosby, and Harvey Weinstein; the deaths of four Marines and a Navy sailor in Chattanooga; the 70th anniversary of D-Day and Normandy; and a host of national news stories. She spent time in Washington D.C. in 2018. It’s shielding the White House.
Most recently, Duncan broadcast from Pennsylvania for the 2020 presidential election and interviewed Breonna Taylor’s mother, including breaking news to the CBS audience that no one will be charged specifically with Taylor’s murder. She was also one of the few network correspondents on the ground in Alabama to cover the passage of that state’s most draconian abortion law since Roe v. Wade. She spent time in Washington D.C. in 2018. It’s shielding the White House. Duncan has since published a number of national news reports that have carried her away from the United States.
Duncan is an Emmy-nominated journalist who has won a variety of awards for her work, including two National Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Multimedia News Association and recognition from the Associated Press and the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists, which named her Journalist of the Year in 2012.
Duncan spent three years at KYW, the CBS-owned TV station in Philadelphia, before joining CBS News. At KYW, she won first place in the Associated Press for a series of stories on disabled people who were left hostage in a social security scam. Duncan has included Hurricane Irene in 2011 and Superstorm Sandy in 2012.
In the past, Duncan was a WIVB (CBS) reporter in Buffalo, N.Y., from 2007 to 2010. While there, she was awarded the local Emmy Award in the best morning show category for her winter storm coverage in 2008. In 2009, she was one of the first reporters on the scene of a plane crash near Buffalo that killed 50 people. Its coverage led to the station’s two national Edward M. Murrow Awards. She started her career in 2005 in nearby Elmira, N.Y., where she covered the search for Ralph “Bucky” Phillips—the longest fugitive manhunt in state history. Duncan was awarded the New York State Broadcasters Association Award for Best Spot News Coverage in 2007.
