Leigh serves as the weeknight 5, 5:30, 7 & 11 pm anchor at WFLA News. On joining WFLA News, she started off by serving as an assignment editor before working as a writer and producer for a variety of newscasts. In addition to that, she assisted the station in debuting News Channel 8’s Polk County bureau in 1995. She began serving as the weeknight 5, 5:30, 7 & 11 pm anchor in 2012.
In December 2014, she started working as an anchor for the 11 pm newscast. Prior to that, she served as the anchor of the 5 pm & 5:30 pm newscasts replacing Gayle Sierens from June 2015 to December 2014. Leigh is also a volunteer at a non-profit organization called Volunteers In Service to the Elderly (VISTE). Leigh also worked as honorary chair of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year Campaign. She went to the University of South Florida where she attained her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications.
