Jeff Vaughn Career
Vaughn serves at KCAL9 and CBS2 as an anchor of the evening newscasts, at 8 pm and 10 pm. He joined CBS 2 and KCAL 9 after working as an anchor at WXYZ-TV, the ABC affiliate in Detroit, since January 2013. He is a four-time Emmy winner.
His broadcasting career includes anchoring and reporting experience with WDIV-TV (NBC) in Detroit, KSHB-TV (NBC) in Kansas City, Missouri; KENS-TV (CBS) in San Antonio, Texas; and KCBD-TV (NBC) in Lubbock, Texas.
A Kansas native, Jeff spent his childhood in Kansas and Colorado and later graduated from Kansas State University. He began his career in broadcasting with KNSS Radio in Wichita, Kansas prior to making his transition to television news.
He enjoys spending his time outdoors and includes hiking, and cycling as his biggest hobbies, as mountain biking. He likes to eat his way through the Los Angeles culinary scene, trying new dishes whenever he finds a chance. His favorite food is a barbeque and tries to imitate Aaron Franklin from his backyard offset smoker. His community involvement includes Alzheimer’s and supporting charity events for those living with multiple sclerosis.
