Before Moos joined CNN, he worked for the NBC affiliate, WPTZ-TV in Plattsburgh, New York as a correspondent. There she was the 1st woman correspondent to be hired by the station. While there, she reported on various national and local stories such as the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid, New York.
In the year 1988, the Newswomen’s Club of New York awarded Moos a Front Page Award in the Feature Category. She earned a News and Documentary Emmy Award in the following year for being instrumental in CNN’s coverage of the Beijing uprising. She was among the CNN team that earned a DuPont Award and Golden ACE Award for reporting on events in China.
