Jason Adams is an American Meteorologist working for WFTS since August 2017. You can catch his weather forecasts every weekend on ABC Action News. Previously, he spent 2 years and 9 months in Cincinnati, Ohio, working for WCPO-TV, as the weekend morning meteorologist.
Jason Adams Education
Adams is a proud alumnus of Florida State University. He graduated from the university in 2009 with a minor in Mathematics, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. During his stint there, he interned at WCTV-TV in Tallahassee, serving as the student broadcaster for the 4FSU TV station. He has also been a student at Northwest Florida State College(from 2005 to 2007). There he graduated with an associate’s degree, majoring in General Education Studies.
Jason Adams Career
Adams began his career in meteorology in January 2008, in Tallahassee, Florida, working for an ABC-affiliated television station, WTXL ABC27. There he anchored 3 days a week from 5:30 to 7 am & every weekend at 6:30 and 11 pm.
In December, he left the station in the same year and went to Fort Smith, Arkansas to work for KFSM Channel 5 as the morning/noon meteorologist. There he co-anchored the morning show, “Wake Up with 5NEWS”, and forecasted weather on weekdays from 4:30 to 8 am.
From October 2012 to December 2014, Adams was in LocationFlint, Michigan working for WEYI – NBC25, still holding the position of a meteorologist. He stayed there for 2 years & 3 months as the weekday morning meteorologist, working from 5 to 7 am. Also, he co-anchored the morning show, “NBC25 Today”.
Adams has covered everything from ice storms to severe tornadoes to major Florida hurricanes to crippling blizzards throughout his career. He is a proud recipient of the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal, which he was awarded by the American Meteorological Society.
Also, he holds a top certification in the field of meteorology. Being an ocean advocate, as well as a beach bum, he likes to spend time around a beach. As a result, he loves watching and learning more about sea turtles and sharks, and manatees as well.
