Stanwood was diagnosed with cancer in June 2020 after Janine noticed a small lump on the right side of her neck. The doctors first thought that it was an enlarged thyroid but after a number of tests and biopsy, it was confirmed that it was cancer. She immediately began treatment and the doctors successfully managed to take the whole gland out. In addition to that, she is also a breast cancer survivor and is working closely with non-profit cancer organizations and foundations.
