Jan began her television career in 1976 as an anchor for KTVN Ch 2 in Reno, Nevada (CBS).
In 1978, she became the first PM Magazine co-host in a small market, capturing a 48 share in its first year, making it the country’s highest-rated PM Magazine. Jan returned to KTVK Channel 3 in Phoenix in 1979 to co-host PM Magazine for the second time and stayed for the next 23 years.
Jan has hosted and produced seven television shows during her 30-year television career. In the categories of producing, writing, and hosting, she has received three Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards, the National Gabriel Award, and a Chicago International Film Festival honor. Her time at KTVK TV in Phoenix, Arizona led to the creation of her own one-hour syndicated television show, Southwest Style, which airs in 24 cities across eight states.

D’Atri opened D’Atri Gourmet Foods in Arizona in 1990, armed with treasured family recipes, and began manufacturing and distributing a gourmet line of Italian Sausages and Biscotti. Jan has since developed an upscale brand of Italian cookies under the Momma and Me label, which she sells on QVC on a regular basis.
Jan added restaurateur to her resume in 2001 when she opened D’Atri’s Cinema Paradiso in Scottsdale, a quaint and casual 14-table eatery that was named one of Arizona’s Top 100 Restaurants. D’Atri’s At The Scottsdale Airport, Jan’s second restaurant, incorporated fine dining and quickly became known for its elegant Tuscan atmosphere, magnificent view of the runway, and “Best Of Phoenix” homemade Panini sandwiches.
