Sherrod serves at FOX17 as a news reporter and anchor. Before joining FOX17, she served at WNEM-TV in Bay City, Michigan as a reporter for the weekday newscasts at 6, 10, and 11 pm. Also, she anchors at 6, 10, and 11 pm every weekend. She joined WNEM in September 2018 and left in February 2022.
Her television career started in Alpena, Michigan, where she worked for WBKB, a CBS/Fox/MyNetworkTV/ABC-affiliated television station. She did everything from producing to shooting to anchoring to reporting at the station. Sherrod developed her passion for broadcasting after taking a journalism class as an elective in high school. It was love at first sight when she was picked to anchor the morning announcements.
Sherrod is a proud University of Michigan, alumnus. While attending the university, she was interning with FOX 2 News in Detroit. This encounter convinced her that broadcasting was what she wanted to pursue in her life. At the university, she majored in Communication, concentrating on Political Science and media studies as well. During her leisure, she can be seen in the kitchen trying out new recipes, or reading her best book. Also, she likes taking photos with her camera or even blogging during her free time. Moreover, Sherrod is always happy and she is excited to be back home, Mid-Michigan, after spending some time in Northern Michigan.
