On joining KXAN News, she started off by serving as the Hays County Reporter and enclosed several stories in most of the communities around the station. She, later on, started serving as the Austin Capitol correspondent prior to her role as the weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter.

Washington previously worked at Sinclair Broadcast Group based in Amarillo, Texas, where she served as a Bilingual multimedia journalist and reporter. During her tenure, she enclosed quite a number of stories including presidential visits, a COVID-19 government shutdown feud, the border immigration crisis, the Aug. 3 Walmart mass shooting, and Black Lives Matter protests.
Prior to Sinclair Broadcast Group, she worked at NewsLink Indiana where she served as an anchor and reporter based in Muncie, Indiana from January 2013 to May 2014.
