He started his baseball career playing for the San Diego Padres from 2002 to 2009 and later played for the Chicago White Sox from 2009 to 2013.

From 2013 to 2014, he played for the Boston Red Sox and again played for the San Francisco Giants from 2014 to 2016. He also led the National League in ERA with 2.54 in 2007 and 2.27 in 2004 and was also an All-Star in 2012, 2005, and 2007.

Peavy posted strikeouts (240), NL-best wins (19), and FIP (2.84). He also appeared in four Postseasons and won back-to-back World Series as a team member of the 2014 Giants and the 2013 Red Sox.
