He had spent about 3 years and 2 months working at WCBI|Morris Media Network where he served as the weekend and field meteorologist based in Columbus, Missouri. From September 2018 to February 2019, he worked at Mississippi FFA Association where he served as a program director.

Prior to that, Dickey worked at ABC 33/40 Birmingham where he served as a meteorologist and intern from September 2016 to January 2017. He also interned at KOCO5 News for 8 months based in Oklahoma. From October 2014 to June 2015, he worked at WCIA based in Illinois where he served as a meteorology intern, storm chaser, and Field Reporter. He also worked at Subway serving as a sandwich artist from September 2012 to August 2013 based in Gibson City, Illinois.

From June 2011 to June 2012, Dickey worked at Illinois Association FFA where he served as a District IV Student Director. Furthermore, he also worked at SADD where he served on a National Executive Committee from May 2011 to September 2011. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys baking, cooking, reading books, and taking road trips.
