Heather has also covered the Royal Weddings of both Prince William and Prince Henry. This is in addition to covering the Diamond Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth and leading the CBC News coverage of eight consecutive Olympic Games.
Back in the year 2018, she was privileged to receive the Canadian Screen Award for Best National News Anchor. This was following three previous nominations and is a three-time Gemini nominee as Best Host and Best News Anchor. Her program, Morning Live on CBC News Network was nominated for the “Best Morning Show” category at the upcoming 2021 Canadian Screen Awards.
Prior to making a move into the morning studio, Hiscox was out in the field. Then, she was based in Toronto for about three years as a reporter for CBC News: The National and also travelled abroad, covering international stories for the program. Aside from this, she has also worked extensively out of CBC’s bureau in Washington and London, England.
Heather kick-started her broadcasting career in the year 1982 at a radio station in her hometown of Owen Sound, Ontario. Asides from this, she worked throughout university and for the first few years after graduation. This was before making a move to television in the year 1981. Hiscox has also worked as a reporter and anchor in Southwestern Ontario, Toronto, Halifax and Montreal.
