Hayley Lewis is an American Sports Anchor/singer/model, working for KSHB-TV since joining the station in October of 2019. She currently anchors sports newscasts for 41 Action News. Prior to this, she worked as a sports reporter and anchor for ABC KEZI 9 in Eugene, Oregon.
Lewis’s career has taken her all around the United States. Prior to moving to Oregon, she was a reporter for WKRN News 2 in Nashville. There, she was also privileged to study at Belmont University. Working as an intern, she covered sporting events for Vanderbilt University, Belmont, and Middle Tennessee. Additionally, she also reported for Belmont Athletics and the Ohio Valley Conference where she covered games all across the conference. In addition, she reported for ABC, radio sports shows, and ESPNU, and covered the OVC tournament, the NCAA Tournament Selection Show, and the TSSAA State Championship tournament. She spent most of her college years in Tennessee.
Growing up, she spent most of her life moving from town to town in the KC Metro area. She followed her dad’s career path where she was learning the ins and outs of the business along the way. The path she chose for her career not only connects with her upbringing but also allows Lewis to showcase an industry that is a part of her core. Looking at players from a coach’s point of view, a player’s, and a fan’s view gives Lewis a well‐rounded approach to her delivery. Her life has always been centered around sports.
However, her passion for sports broadcasting began in the year 2014 when she won the Miss Tennessee title. Attending college in Nashville, she competed for Miss America and was placed in the top ten out of 53 competitors. Being Miss Tennesse, she served as the governor’s Official Spokesperson for Character Education. There, she was privileged to travel over 80,000 miles and speak to over 50,000 schoolchildren about character and respect. Her career as Miss Tennessee included numerous spokesperson roles and TV appearances, which perfectly prepared Lewis for her career today.
Returning to Belmont for her senior year, she paired her sports knowledge with her newfound on-camera skills and took off in her career as a sports reporter/anchor. She is passionate about sports broadcasting as it not only allows her a way to speak about one of her favorite interests but also allows her to captivate an audience with her positive energy. She knows the world of sports is so much more than highlights. In her career as a sports anchor, the most rewarding thing is sharing the amazing things the world of sports can do for someone’s life.
On the 22nd of June 2014, she was named Miss Tennessee at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, Tennessee. In a voice competition held in Times Square, her singing ensemble placed fourth in the world. Lewis is a supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network after receiving assistance from the organization when she was four years old due to a badly fractured arm.
