Hayden Christensen Anakin – Star Wars

Christensen announced on May 12, 2000, that he would be starring as an adult Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Skywalker had previously been portrayed as a child by Jake Lloyd in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

Before director George Lucas chose Christensen, the casting director interviewed approximately 1,500 other candidates. According to reports, Lucas chose Christensen because he “needed an actor who has that presence of the Dark Side.”This was critical in cementing Lucas’s story of Anakin Skywalker’s fall from grace and transformation into Darth Vader.

During the filming of Revenge of the Sith, Christensen asked Lucas if a special Vader suit could be made to fit his body, rather than having a different actor don one of the original sets of Vader armor worn by David Prowse.

Lucas agreed, and a suit was designed to fit Christensen’s frame, including extensions to allow the actor to reach Vader’s height of 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m). His voice as the “robotic” Darth Vader, on the other hand, was dubbed over by James Earl Jones, who popularized the voice in the original trilogy.

Christensen’s stock footage was used in the 2004 DVD-release edition of Return of the Jedi, where he was inserted to replace Sebastian Shaw as the redeemed Anakin Skywalker’s force ghost. This was one of the most contentious amendments. Lucas wished for Anakin’s inner person to revert to who he was before embracing the dark side. 

Christensen insisted that this was done without his knowledge, and Lucasfilm confirmed this in the featurette “Return of the Jedi: What has changed?” which can be seen on the official website commemorating the 2006 DVDs.

Christensen appeared as Sam Monroe in Life as a House, a 2001 American drama film. In the old family shack on the California coast, a jaded architectural model fabricator is living a bachelor’s life. He has been avoiding modern CAD technology standards, and he is eventually fired from an architecture firm.

With a limited amount of time left in his life, he decides to demolish the shack left to him by his father and construct his own custom home. Robin decides to assist him and discovers George, whom she had forgotten about a year before.

When neighbor David Dokos attempts to halt construction because the building’s height exceeds the allowable limit by six inches, complications arise. Sam, who recognizes him from his prostitution attempt, stops him and blackmails him into stopping the project.

in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Christensen portrayed Anakin Skywalker, a former Tatooine slave and Obi-gifted Wan’s Padawan apprentice who is assigned to protect Padmé, whom he falls in love with.

 He is thought to be the “chosen one” of Jedi prophecy, destined to “balance The Force.” He has grown powerful but arrogant in the ten years since The Phantom Menace, and he believes Obi-Wan is holding him back. There was a large search for an actor to play Anakin Skywalker.

Before casting Christensen, Lucas auditioned for a number of unknown actors. Jonathan Brandis, Devon Sawa, Joshua Jackson, Ryan Phillippe, Colin Hanks, and Paul Walker were among the many established actors who auditioned.

According to DiCaprio publicist Ken Sunshine, Leonardo DiCaprio met with Lucas for the role but was “definitely unavailable.” Natalie Portman, Christensen’s co-star, later told Time magazine that Christensen “gave an excellent reading He could be both frightening and very young at the same time.”

On May 16, 2002, the film was released in the United States. It received mixed reviews, with some critics hailing it as an improvement over its predecessor, The Phantom Menace, and others labeling it the franchise’s worst installment. 

The film received praise for its increased emphasis on action, visual effects, musical score, and costume design, but it received criticism for its screenplay, Christensen’s performance, romantic scenes, and underdeveloped characters.

It did well at the box office, grossing over $645 million worldwide; however, it became the first Star Wars film to be outgrossed in its first year of release, finishing third domestically and fourth globally. Revenge of the Sith came after Attack of the Clones, bringing the Star Wars prequel trilogy to a close.

Christensen portrayed David Rice, a young man who discovers the genetic ability to “jump” over short and long distances engulfed by thin, black smoke. He is also a latent telekinetic, a hereditary ability that activates whenever he is stressed and unable to jump.

Prior to filming, the script was rewritten, and the roles of the main characters were changed during production. Jumper was shot in 20 cities and 14 countries between 2006 and 2007. The film premiered on February 14, 2008, with the soundtrack following five days later on February 19.

The film grossed $27.3 million in its opening weekend, but received generally negative reviews from critics, owing to the many changes to Gould’s novel, rushed plot, and anticlimactic ending. The film stars David Rice as a superhuman who can “jump” into and out of bank vaults.

The Paladins, a secret society of religious fanatics sworn to track down and kill “Jumpers” for their alleged omnipresence, are after him. David and his crush Millie travel to Rome, keeping his ability hidden, but are assassinated by a group of Paladins while visiting the Colosseum.

David discovers his younger half-sister Sophie when he pays a visit to his long-lost mother Mary. David notices his mother’s picture on the wall and realizes she, too, is a Paladin. David infuriates Millie by breaking into her apartment.

When David sees Roland arrive, he decides to tell her the truth. The Paladins invade using a machine that keeps David’s “jump scar” open, but David and Griffin manage to subdue the majority of them.
