In that role, she traveled to various states in the Middle East to report on major stories, including to Amman, Jordan after Al Qaeda suicide bombers attacked 2 hotels. Gorani has also covered various weather events such as the deadly 2010 Haiti earthquake. 

She has conducted exclusive interviews with high-profile names such as Jimmy Carter, Nouri al-Maliki, Shimon Peres, Amr Moussa, and Ehud Barak, just to name a few. She served as a principal member of the extensive CNN crew, where in November 2015, covered the action and aftermath, as well as the investigation of terrorist attacks in Paris, France. 130 people lost their lives in the attack.
