In 1997, she went to KTVT CBS-11 in Dallas, TX as a Weather Correspondent, Feature Reporter, and host of the TV talk show “Positively Texas” and received the Emmy Weather Squad, five National Association of Black Journalism Broadcasting Awards, and the “2000 Media Person Of The Year” award.
In 2002, she joined Nation’s Capital and WTTG FOX 5 DC as Weather Anchor and Reporter and has since received five Emmy nominations and three Associated Press awards. With deep political engagement, interest in children, women’s causes, and promoting constructive direction, she has always been interested in community service in both Canada and the United States.
Tolbart Speaks is the weather forecast on CBS News at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesdays and Thursdays. She was awarded President Obama’s “Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service” in 2016. She has a love of life and positivity and a special place in her heart for animals, particularly dogs, elephants, and pandas. Tolbart is a member of the National Speaker’s Association (NSA) and a former Board Member of the D.C. NSA Branch.
