Pilgrim went to Airport High School in West Columbia where she led several clubs as well as the editor of the school newspaper. While still in high school, she managed to write quite a number of articles that mainly focused on high school sports, for the county’s local newspaper, The Lexington Chronicle. After her high school studies, she joined the University of South Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communications where she attained her Bachelor’s Degree in 2004. Pilgrim is a correspondent, anchor, and reporter who started her journalism career at WIS-TV in 2002 where she served as a web producer. Come 2004, she left the station for WVVA where she served as an anchor and reporter. After working for WVVA for a few years, she switched careers and started working for Fox Charlotte serving as a reporter on a cab driver who failed to pick up handicapped or differently-abled customers.
Pilgrim was offered a position at WPVI as an anchor and soon accepted the offer and joined the station. In 2009, she switched gears to ABC News serving as a correspondent. While at ABC News, she has managed to enclose major stories that hit the headlines including Prince’s death, and the Sago Mine collapse. She also enclosed the hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Florence, and Matthew, the Charlottesville protests, and the Amtrak derailment just to mention a few.
During her tenure at ABC News, she has also made contributions to some of the station’s shows that are a huge success including Good Morning America from 2016 to 2018. She also contributed to ABC World News Tonight with David Muir from 2016 to 2017, Good Morning America Weekend Edition from 2016 to 2018, and ABC News Nightline in 2018.
Pilgrim succeeded Paula Faris after joining Good Morning America as a weekend co-anchor in October 2018. She is also very much active when it comes to her social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter as well as Instagram. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her husband, daughter, and family.
