Barajas is a News anchor and reporter at ABC13. He joined the station in March 2008. Prior to joining ABC13, he worked at KSAT 12 in San Antonio as a weekend reporter and anchor for four years.
He began his journalism career at KZTV 10 in Corpus Christi, Texas where he played several roles. During his time there, he served as a news producer, anchor, reporter, as well as photographer. Barajas says wearing different hats in the field of journalism helped him to know the perspective and understanding of the challenges it takes to produce news. Later he joined KTBC Fox 7 in Austin, Texas, and became the station’s weekend reporter anchor.
One of the most memorable reports he ever did, is the crash of the space shuttle Columbia on the borders of Louisiana and Texas. He ever traveled to report the Gulf Oil spill in Louisiana. Barajas covered the visit of President Barack Obama to Austin, Texas while he was there.
He says it is a true blessing to work in Houston where his family still lives. Barajas can do what he does for a living in front of his friends and family. Staying in Texas helped him to know the state on a deeper level and realize just how diverse the state really is.
During his free time, he loves spending quality time with his wife and children going out, or going to the beach.
