Deon attended Jackson State University in Jackson, MS where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. She then earned a Master of Geosciences with a focus on Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Deon serves at WSB-TV as a weekend morning meteorologist, a position she held since joining the station. She is delighted to be back in Atlanta where she lived for nearly 10 years working at The Weather Channel and CNN International.
Most recently, she spent time working as a weekend morning meteorologist at WFTV in Orlando, FL. Before that, she worked at WISH-TV in her hometown of Indianapolis, IN as the weekend evening meteorologist.
She began her career in Jackson, Mississippi, at the National Weather Networks. Deon left to become a radio broadcast meteorologist for The Weather Channel Radio Network. Soon afterward, Deon became an on-camera meteorologist at The Weather Channel. She has also spent time doing weather reports for Al Jazeera America in New York City and CNN International. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
