Lemon is a proud alumnus of Baker High School, Louisiana State University, and Brooklyn College. He graduated from Brooklyn College in the year 1996 with a degree in broadcast journalism. During his stint at Brooklyn, he worked as an adjunct professor, where he taught and participated in a curriculum designed around new media. While studying at Brooklyn College, he worked as an intern at WNYW-TV in New York City. He also served at NBC affiliates in Chicago and Philadelphia as a correspondent and Fox affiliates in Chicago and St. Louis, for a couple of years.
