He later joined the University of Michigan where he received his degree from the Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences department. Kevra is an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. He interned with Fox 2 News and his job got his first job in Medford, OR at KDRV as a morning meteorologist.
Kevra later moved to New Orleans to work at WWL-TV after two years in KDRV. She did extensive severe weather coverage during hurricane season with the help of studying Tropical Meteorology in school. For 5 straight days, Kevra and his team were on air 24 hours after Hurricane Isaac made landfall less than 100 miles south of New Orleans in 2012.
