Morgan serves as a news anchor and reporter at WRAL-TV. Prior to joining WRAL-TV in 1993, she worked at a station based in Jacksonville, Florida from 1990 to 1993 where she served as a reporter. Prior to her tenure in Jacksonville, Florida, she worked at a station in Toledo, Ohio where she served as a reporter and anchor from 1988 to 1990.
Morgan has also won several awards and honors including ten Emmy Awards, Five Star Award (WRAL Employee of the Year) in 2006, and the NC Association of Broadcasters Anchor of the Year in 2017. Furthermore, the North Carolina Woman’s Club honored her with the Women of Achievement Award in Journalism. She also received the RTDNAC Anchor of the Year in 2015.
Morgan went to the University of Miami where she attained her Bachelor of Science in Communication and Psychology and graduated, Magna Cum Laude in 1988. She is also an active member of the Caring Community Foundation, American Heart Association, ALS Association (Jim “Catfish” Hunter Chapter), and Pretty In Pink. Additionally, she is part of Dress for Success, Methodist Home for Children, Dorcas Ministries and DRF (Triangle Chapter).
Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends. Some of her all time favorite assignments include reporting the 2016 Olympics in Rio, spending a day at the White House interviewing President Obama, and going to Paris to enclose the effects of the terrorist attacks. In addition to that, enclsoing Hurricane Bertha in Wrightsville Beach and other hurricanes are some of most memorable events as a journalist.
