Her next jump took her back to her hometown in Southern California. Her next move brought her back to her roots in Southern California, where she worked as an anchor as well as a reporter for KNSD-TV (NBC) in San Diego. Deborah also worked for NBC News, where she covered major West Coast news events.
Hurricane Katrina was also the most difficult assignment she has ever had. It was also the most satisfying. She witnessed unimaginable devastation. Entire neighborhoods had vanished, along with streets and landmarks, and there were stairs leading up to foundations but no houses. But in the midst of it all, we discovered hope.
