David Archuleta Music Career

Archuleta is a singer and actor who began his career at a very tender age. He won the children’s division of the Utah Talent Competition when he was only 10 years old. He, later on, became the Junior Vocal Champion on the second season of “Star Search 2″ when he was only 12 years old. He also participated in American Idol season 7 in 2008 where he finished second. Archuleta released his first single from his self-titled debut album”Crush” in August 2008. The album sold over 750,000 copies in the US and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.

Archuleta released his third album in October 2010 called “The Other Side of Down” which featured the lead single “Something ‘Bout Love”. He took a break from music in March 2012 and worked on being a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) based in Chile.

Archuleta released his fourth album in March 2012 called “Forevermore” which is also his first Original Filipino Music (OPM) album that has quite a number of Filipino songs. In August 2012, he released his fifth album called “Begin” and later on a compilation album called “No Matter How Far” released in March 2013. In October 2017, he released his sixth studio album called, “Postcards in the Sky.” Archuletta released his eighth album in May 2020 called “Therapy Sessions.”

Archuleta was born and raised by his mother, Guadalupe Mayorga, and his father, Jeff Archuleta. His mother, Guadalupe is a salsa dancer and singer from Honduras while his father is a jazz musician with roots in Ireland, Germany, Spain, and Denmark. Growing up, he was raised alongside his four siblings. When David was 6 years old, his family moved to Sandy, Utah, and started his music career.

Archuleta began his acting career in 2003 when he appeared in Start Search as a Junior Singer. That same year(2009), he appeared in Hannah Montana in season 3.
