Archuleta went to Murray High School where he attained his high school diploma. He, later on, joined Barbizon Modeling and Acting School in Salt Lake City where he graduated in acting and modeling.

Archuleta is a singer and actor who began his career at a very tender age. He won the children’s division of the Utah Talent Competition when he was only 10 years old. He, later on, became the Junior Vocal Champion on the second season of “Star Search 2″ when he was only 12 years old. He also participated in American Idol season 7 in 2008 where he finished second. Archuleta released his first single from his self-titled debut album”Crush” in August 2008. The album sold over 750,000 copies in the US and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
Archuleta released his third album in October 2010 called “The Other Side of Down” which featured the lead single “Something ‘Bout Love”. He took a break from music in March 2012 and worked on being a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) based in Chile.
Archuleta released his fourth album in March 2012 called “Forevermore” which is also his first Original Filipino Music (OPM) album that has quite a number of Filipino songs. In August 2012, he released his fifth album called “Begin” and later on a compilation album called “No Matter How Far” released in March 2013. In October 2017, he released his sixth studio album called, “Postcards in the Sky.” Archuletta released his eighth album in May 2020 called “Therapy Sessions.”

Archuleta was born and raised by his mother, Guadalupe Mayorga, and his father, Jeff Archuleta. His mother, Guadalupe is a salsa dancer and singer from Honduras while his father is a jazz musician with roots in Ireland, Germany, Spain, and Denmark. Growing up, he was raised alongside his four siblings. When David was 6 years old, his family moved to Sandy, Utah, and started his music career.

Archuleta began his acting career in 2003 when he appeared in Start Search as a Junior Singer. In 2009, he also made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and also performed his song “Crush.” In 2009 he acted in iCarly season 2 and season 3. That same year(2009), he appeared in Hannah Montana in season 3.
In 2009 and 2017, he appeared as a guest in SiS and Eat Bulaga. He has also been interviewed by 24Oras, Cool Center, and so much more. In 2010, he appeared on Tosh.0 in Episode 21. In 2012, he appeared on Nandito Ako as Josh Bradley where he was the lead role in the Philipino TV series.

Archuleta is also active when it comes to helping around. He is an active member of Do Something and the Dunkin’ Brands Community Foundation and assists others in disaster relief alongside willing teenagers. During his teen years, he worked hand in hand with DoSomething.org in donating jeans to the needy all across the world during their Jean’s charity initiative. After the major January 2010 Haiti earthquake, Archuleta alongside other celebrities held fundraising and assisted the affected families and people in Haiti.
Furthermore, Archuleta worked alongside ChildFund International in recruiting new sponsors to raise awareness for needy children all across the globe. Archuleta is also volunteering and donating to protection initiatives in Asia and Central Africa as well as performing at events held by the organization. Archuleta went to Chennai, India in January 2011 alongside a non-profit charity called Rising Star Outreach offering children from leper colonies education as well as other basic needs. He also sang the Spanish version of “We Are the World 25 for Haiti” during the Somos El Mundo.

In 2009, he appeared in iCarly, an American teen sitcom produced by Dan Schneider which premiered on September 8, 2007, and concluded on November 23, 2012. The series revolves around three best friends, Sam and Freddie (Jennette McCurdy and Nathan Kress) as well as Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove). The three best friends hosts and create their own web show alongside Carly’s older brother Spencer (Jerry Trainor) in their apartment loft.
