Throughout his career, he has received numerous journalism awards for his work, including Emmy Awards, Associated Press Awards, Golden Mike Awards, and recognition from the Radio Television Digital News Association. He was a sports writer at the Huntington Park Daily Signal newspaper before beginning his career in television news.
