Hawk is a Sports and News Reporter/anchor at News on 6. Prior to joining News on 6, he worked as a News Reporter and fill-in Sports at CBS 17 in Raleigh. Hawk developed a love of sports at a very young age, the way television connected sports with everyone.
He moved to El Paso, Texas to play junior college baseball. The Western Texas College awarded him with an Associate of Arts. He then moved back to Idaho where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Boise State University.
Hawk worked at KIDO-AM in Boise, Idaho as a Sports Producer for a successful drive-time sports radio show where he learned the “ins and outs” of the business. He also served at KNOP-TV North Platte, Nebraska, wherein in 2012 he moved from behind a microphone to on-air KNOP-TV’s Weekend Sports Anchor.
He worked as a Sports Director for KFJX and KOAM-TV in Joplin, Miss. In addition, he worked at KIVI and KNIN in Boise, Idaho as a Sports Director. In the course of that time, he covered baseball as well as football including the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals, who both made World Series. Apart from covering sports, he wrote two football magazines previewing Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
In 2018, he moved from Boise, Idaho to Raleigh, NC to work as a Breaking News Reporter. He also worked at CBS 17 in Raleigh as a News Reporter and fill-in Sports. Hawk got a chance to cover some of the biggest matchups since he resides in the Carolinas. The matchups include North Carolina and Duke.
