Cydney Long Career
Long serves at NBC10 as a news anchor/reporter. Before joining NBC10, Long was working for KYW as a New Jersey correspondent. She also was a general assignment reporter from 2001 to 2011. From 2004 to 2006, Cydney was covering southern New Jersey and co-anchored weekday and weekend morning newscasts. In addition, she served as a fill-in anchor on a regular basis.
Long is committed to serving the community. Actually, she earned a Mid-Atlantic Emmy in 2003, for breaking news coverage of the deadly Atlantic City Tropicana Casino garage collapse. Long was also recognized by the Mercer County prosecutor. This was after uncovering a grocery store surveillance video of a missing woman with her alleged killer even before the police.
Long started her career in journalism in 1994 at WTSP in Tampa, Florida. Here, Long produced the weekend evening news up to 1997. She later moved to be a reporter with Bay News 9 in Tampa, as well as Time-Warner-owned Central Florida News 13 of Orlando.
Further, Long anchored and reported the news and covered various hurricanes along Florida coasts. Long was an investigative reporter with K-EYE in Austin, Texas from 1999 to 2001. At that time, she was investigating ‘the yogurt shop murders’-the notorious Austin cold case.
On the other hand, she also reported on the deadly bonfire collapse, at Texas A&M University and many other stories. Long went to the University of South Florida where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications. When she is out of work, Long enjoys summers at the shore. In addition, she likes to spend time with her husband and their two children in South Jersey on their blueberry farm.
