Marotto attended the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 1992. Asides from this, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in the year 1996. When she was in college, she ran tack field and cross-country. After this, she went on to pursue her Master’s Degree at St. Catherine University in 1997. This is a group of dancer friends juggling the realities of their personal lives with their dedication to dance. In the end, they state that all is fair in war and ballroom.
The show follows a group of women as they invest their time and money into their all-consuming passion to vie for the top spots, respect, and recognition in the world of Pro-Am dance competitions. Pro-Am combines amateur dancers competing with professional partners. The highly skilled amateur dancers spend tens of thousands of dollars on their hair, makeup, and outfits plus the expenses for their professional partners to practice, travel and compete.
The women who range from stay-at-home moms to business owners and finance exec put their lives aside and negotiate time away from their families when it comes to dance. Being in the ballroom, they maintain their composure but behind the scenes and the women are willing to sabotage their frenemies in the name of competition. This also includes poaching pro-partners for a chance to win. The dancers share an obsession with winning, no matter the cost. Colette will feature in the show alongside;
