Clay Ostarly is an American Meteorologist/Traffic Reporter/Multimedia Journalist currently working for WOWT-TV since joining the station in March 2019. Previously, he was in Roanoke, Virginia, working for WFXR-TV, a Fox-affiliated TV station.

Ostarly’s interest in weather began when he was a child(on the 8th of May, 1995). That day, South Louisiana was hit by a torrential rainstorm that dumped nearly 20 inches of rain in less than 48 hours. Ostarly was living in South Louisiana at the time, and the storm caused considerable flooding.
Ostarly was scared of the weather when he was five years old. However, it was the deluge that drove him to obsessively monitor The Weather Channel. As he watched, he learned more about the weather and eventually became unconcerned about it. That is how he came to the conclusion that he wanted to be a meteorologist.
Ostarly is a proud alumnus of the University of Louisiana in Monroe, where he majored in Atmospheric Sciences. He graduated from the university in the year 2011. While at the university, he worked for KNOE 8 News, a dual CBS/ABC-affiliated TV station. He first began as a weather intern, then as a Weekend Meteorologist/Multimedia Journalist. Ostarly is affiliated with the National Weather Association(NWA), which recognized him with the National Weather Association Seal of Approval. He also holds a Louisiana Associated Press Award.
