Henry serves as a co-anchor of NBC4 News at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. He is also well-known for his versatility, and he has been praised for both his hard news reports and his lighter stories. He reported from Las Vegas in October 2017 to cover the worst mass shooting in modern history. He was one of only a few television reporters permitted to visit and report from “the most bombed place on Earth,” the Nevada Test Site, which served as the epicenter of America’s nuclear testing program. The City Council was prompted to hire expert security consultants from Israel in response to Henry’s report on security flaws on the backside of the Los Angeles International Airport.
Henry was the only reporter ever allowed into the secret Good Shepard Shelter and granted interviews with residents and management staff to expose the plight of domestic violence victims. Henry began his broadcasting career in 1966 as a reporter and anchor at Honolulu’s KHVH-TV. He has also worked for NBC affiliates KENI-TV in Anchorage, Alaska, and WMAQ-TV in Chicago. During his time there, he produced and hosted an on-air show called Your Army Neighbor, which was a community program that featured members of the military.
