Hartin serves as the anchor of the 4, and 5 pm newscasts on NewsChannel 11. She also anchors the show, “NewsChannel 11 Sunday”. Christy has always been wanting to be a part of this fantastic news crew, so it is a dream come true for her. Hartin began as an in-studio camera operator before becoming an associate producer for the newscasts, at 5 am, 6 am, and 10 am.
Within 1 year, she was producing 3-weekend newscasts and, in March 2002, she was promoted to weekend anchor. After that, she was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to go out into the community and cover stories that affected West Texas and the South Plains. Then, in March of 2006, she was thrilled to be named anchor of the 5 pm newscasts on NewsChannel 11.
Hartin is a proud alumnus of South Plains College, as well as Texas Tech University. In year 2004, she graduated from South Plains College and went on to Texas Tech University. During her leisure, she enjoys running, traveling, and football with her Red Raiders.
