On June 30, 2023, it was confirmed that Christel had a cyst that returned six years ago. The cyst had attached itself to her sternum, trachea, and chest area. She was immediately rushed to the emergency room and was admitted as doctors ran more tests. Her doctors told her that the cyst is near the nerve that controls your vocal cord function. After she had the surgery, she was diagnosed with right vocal cord paresis and had to start speech therapy immediately.
