Chris Tomer is an American-certified meteorologist working for Colorado’s Own Channel 2 and FOX31 Denver serving as a meteorologist. He has been working for the station since 2005 and previously worked at Sinclair Broadcast Group in Baltimore, Maryland.

He earned a B.S. in Meteorology with Honors from Valparaiso University, where he also played basketball. Tomer anchors weekday mornings on Channel 2’s Daybreak from 5 a.m. – 9 a.m. and occasionally at 10 a.m. on FOX31’s Everyday show.
Tomer won an Emmy for his Tomer’s Trails stories in 2015. Tomer is a New York Times best-selling author. He co-wrote Sleeping on the Summits: Colorado Fourteener High Bivys in 2011. Sleeping on the Summits was a Colorado Bestseller in the summer of 2012, and it went on to win two major book awards in 2013, including the Colorado Book Award and the IPPY Award.

In July 2019, Tomer had gone mountain biking and that’s when his bicycle crashed and got a few injuries and bruises. He shared the information on his Facebook page stating” I didn’t get into a fight! Although I do enjoy MMA as a spectator.
