Chris Easlick is an American Meteorologist currently working for WNEM-TV since joining the station in April 2015. You can catch him casting weather on WNEM-TV5 Wake Up every morning, from Monday to Friday.
Previously, he was a student at Carnegie Mellon University, where he gained considerable forecasting experience since he was serving at the award-winning News Central 34. In 2014 summer, he was interning at a dual CBS/CW-affiliated television station in Kalamazoo, WWMT. He has seen blizzard warnings and tornado warnings growing up in West Michigan and between these two destinations. As a member of the First Warn 5 team, he is excited to keep the challenge of predicting in Michigan while keeping you and your family safe.
Severe weather was one of his greatest fears as a child. With a prove of a worn-out Video Home System(VHS) tape, in fourth grade, however, he was hooked after seeing the movie Twister. He quickly discovered that instead of cartoons, he was watching The Weather Channel when he got home from school. His fascination with the weather led him to Central Michigan University and in 2015, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology.
During his leisure, he likes spending time outdoors taking in the sights of the Great Lakes or on the golf course. Also, he likes watching, as well as engaging himself in sporting events, especially college football baseball.
