Cox serves as a sports anchor and reporter for 12 News. He comes to the valley from WOAI-TV in San Antonio, Texas, where he worked as a sports reporter and anchor for two years. Cox covered two NBA Finals, the Spurs’ championship parade, the NBA All-Star game, College Football, Texans and Cowboys games, NFL playoffs, the Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony, High School sports, MLB, and the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament while in San Antonio.
He began his career as a weekend sports anchor for KNOE-TV in Monroe, Louisiana, where he covered Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, Grambling, LSU, and the Saints. Cameron was a student-athlete at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. He quickly learned how to enhance his journalism by drawing on his own on-the-field experiences.
Cameron worked full-time for KENW and KSEL as their lead sports anchor and play-by-play broadcaster while studying Broadcast Journalism. He also hosted Portales’ first sports talk radio show, “Game On!” and was the Portales Rams’ voice.
