Conant serves at CBS as a Political Director. She reports directly to CBS News vice president and Washington bureau chief Christopher Isham and helps lead the network’s political and campaign coverage.
Conant was formerly Chief Communications Officer with CBS News in Washington, D.C. In that position, she handled communications and public relations with the Washington, D.C. Bureau and its correspondents. She collaborated closely with “Face The Nation” moderator John Dickerson, “Face The Nation” moderator Margaret Brennan, and “Face The Nation” executive producer Mary Hager on editorial strategy and strategic branding. Conant acted as the primary spokeswoman on national, research, and press access topics, and she focused on political and Capitol Hill outreach for the Washington Bureau. She also helped prepare and develop the media campaign won by CBS News throughout the 2016 election cycle.
Conant joined CBS News, at the center of the landmark presidential race. Prior to joining CBS News, Conant spent eight years working in the United States. The Senate and the numerous election campaigns. Most recently, Conant worked with Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) presidential bid, where she managed state press and proxy communications. She previously worked as Head of Marketing for Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH).

Tim Pawlenty (R-MN); and the congressional reporter for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). Conant got a political start right after college while consulting on McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.
