Garner serves as FOX35 Orlando’s weekday evening meteorologist from 5 pm to 11:30 pm. He previously worked for FOX31 where he served as a meteorologist on weekdays from 4:30-9:00 a.m. on the FOX31 Morning News. He joined the Pinpoint Weather team in August 2019 till his departure in June 2021. Prior to his tenure at FOX31, he also worked as a weekday meteorologist at KHOU in Houston for six years before moving to Denver.
Prior to that, he worked at WFLA in Tampa and WIS in South Carolina. His career began at Iowa’s KMEG. Brooks has received the prestigious seals of approval from both the AMS and the NWA. He also has extensive real-world experience forecasting severe weather and blizzards. His post-graduate work includes completing a three-year Certification Program for Broadcast Meteorology and Geosciences at Mississippi State University for weather broadcasting. He graduated with honors from the Massachusetts College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) (2003). There, he honed his ability to make the complexities of weather understandable and entertaining to watch.
