Brittney graduated from Ridgeway High School in 2007 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in communications and information with a concentration in broadcast news from the University of Tennessee in 2011. Brittney received her master’s degree in broadcast meteorology from MSU in May 2014.

Bryant serves at WMC Action News 5 as a meteorologist. She appears on weekday mornings from 4:30 to 7 a.m. Her skills in writing and reporting for broadcast, print, and digital news were honed through her journalism classes. Brittney DJed a weekly soul and blues radio show called Soul Power on WUTK-FM while she was a student at UT. After graduating from UT, she went on to Mississippi State University to further her meteorology education.
She also gained teaching experience as an instructor for MSU’s Beginning TV Production class and co-authored a paper with a group of her peers about how viewers perceive colors on weather maps. Brittney also took a storm-chasing class where she learned how to forecast tornadoes in the field. Brittney observed an EF-3 tornado in El Reno, Oklahoma, as well as an EF-4 tornado in Bennington, Kansas.
Brittney began her career at WMBF-TV in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she covered Tropical Storms Arthur and Ana. She gained valuable experience forecasting winter and severe storms there. She is overjoyed to be continuing her career at WMC Action News 5, the station she grew up watching. Brittney enjoys live music, the Memphis Grizzlies, and traveling. In her spare time, she also enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes.
