Brit Hume Career
Hume serves as a senior political analyst of FOX News Sunday at FOX News Channel. He recently made contributions to the station’s Midterm Election as well as 2020 presidential. Moreover, he also covered the Republican and Democratic National Conventions as well as vice presidential debates. He also spent a few months as the host of the weekdays at 7 PM/ET, On the Record. Hume also served as lead anchor of Special Report till December 2008.

From 1996 to 2008, Hume served as the main presidential elections anchor, reporter, and correspondent. Prior to joining FNC, he worked at ABC News where he served as the chief White House correspondent. While still working at ABC, he also made contributions on World News Tonight alongside Peter Jennings, This Week, and Nightline among other programs. On joining ABC in 1973, he started off by serving as a consultant and later on started serving as the Washington correspondent in 1976.
In 1988, Hume was given a raise and started serving as a reporter on Congress and Capitol Hill correspondent. Prior to working at ABC News, he worked at United Press International where he served as a reporter. He kickstarted his career working at The Baltimore Evening Sun and The Hartford Times where he served as a newspaper reporter.
Hume has also won several awards and honors including a 1991 Emmy Award for enclosing the Gulf War. In 2003, he received the Sol Taishoff Award from the National Press Foundation and was also tagged by the American Journalism Review as “the best in the business.” He went to the University of Virginia where he attained his Bachelor of Arts in English in 1965.
