Shields serves as the weekday noon meteorologist at WFTV based in Orlando, Florida. He previously worked at Sinclair Broadcast Group where he served as a meteorologist from June 2004 to June 2006 in Charleston, WV. From August 2002 to June 2004, he worked at Delmarva Broadcasting Company where he served as a reporter as well as a meteorologist in Salisbury, Maryland.
In 1999, he joined Villanova University where he attained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography in 2003. She, later on, joined Mississippi State University where he attained his Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Meteorology in 2006. In 2013, he joined Florida State University where he attained his Certificate in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management in 2014.
Shields is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM Seal Holder) from the American Meteorological Society. Shields also owns the National Weather Association Seal of Approval for weather casting. Whenever he is not busy working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends.
