Brian Kenny is an American sportscaster working for FOX Sports serving as a host for MLB Network and a boxing play-by-play announcer for Fox Sports and DAZN. He hosts the weekday program MLB Now, known as “the show for the thinking fan”.

Kenny serves as a host on MLB Network’s studio programming, including the analytics-focused panel show MLB Now, as well as special event coverage and the Emmy Award-winning flagship studio show, MLB Tonight. In addition, he appears on the offseason countdown show Top 10 Right Now.
Kenny hosts a one-hour live regular panel discussion on MLB Now that discusses breaking news and the latest developments in the game from the viewpoints of baseball journalists, sabermetricians, broadcasters, current and former players, and managers. Ahead of the Curve: Inside the Baseball Revolution is Kenny’s book. Kenny came to MLB Network from ESPN, where he was the anchor of SportsCenter at 6:00 p.m. ET, the host of the Brian Kenny Show on ESPN Radio, and the host of Friday Night Fights on ESPN2. He previously worked as an ESPN anchor for “Baseball Tonight,” for which he won a Sports Emmy in 2003. Kenny also anchored ESPN’s coverage of the National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cooperstown, New York, and called play-by-play for Wednesday Night Baseball and the World Baseball Classic.
SI.com called Kenny “Media Personality of the Year” in 2004, and the Boxing Writers Association of America presented him with the Sam Taub Award for Boxing Broadcaster of the Year in 2005. Kenny played himself in the 2006 film “Rocky Balboa,” the 2007 film “Resurrecting the Champ,” and the 2017 IFC series “Brockmire.”
Kenny spent 11 years as the Sports Director at WTZA-TV in Kingston, New York, before joining ESPN (1986-1997). He received 11 New York State Broadcasters Association Awards and five Associated Press Awards for Journalistic Excellence while at WTZA. He worked as a news reporter and sports anchor at WLIG-TV in Riverhead, New York, from 1985 to 1986. Kenny received his education at St. John’s University and the New York Institute of Technology. In 1985, he received his Magna Cum Laude from New York Tech.
