Brian Colleran is an American anchor working for NBC5 since joining the station in July 2016. He anchors the station’s evening newscasts at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. Further, he also anchors the 10 p.m. newscast on The Valley CW.

Colleran went to the University of Maryland where he graduated with a degree in Government and Politics. Brian enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving well for six years in the Reserves. He joined NBC5 in July 2016 where he has been serving as a moderator in the station’s live political debates. Brian traveled to Iowa to cover the Iowa Caucus, in January 2020. There, he covered Senator Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign.
Colleran is a Long Island native and has worked in local television for almost 25 years. His work as a reporter and an anchor has been recognized by broadcasting associations in Colorado, Alabama, and Florida. In fact, he was honored with an Edward R. Murrow regional award in 2015.
