At the beginning of 2021, Roux announced that he had undergone back surgery in March 2019. He said that he had nearly 10 years’ worth of problems with his lower back and really needed to get it fixed. Roux was a Type 1 Diabetic, for which healing time always takes longer.
His work schedule included getting up from bed at 2:30 a.m. followed by a few snooze bars and there was little to no time left to stretch his back out and get ready to start the day. In the afternoons, he got so tired when he got home after doing some exercises. He says that doing the exercises seemed like climbing Mount Everest! Roux however recovered and is now in good health.
