DeCastro is an anchor and reporter for FOX 11 News. He anchors Good Day LA. DeCastro joined the FOX 11 Los Angeles news team in June 2004. Since then, he has covered some of the biggest stories impacting Southern California. Prior to joining FOX 11 Los Angeles, he worked for Fox 5 (WNYW-TV New York), FOX 11 sister station as a news reporter for three years.
In the course of his working time there, he covered the crash of American Airlines Flight 587, the Anthrax Scare, and also reported from Ground Zero immediately after the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. Before working for Fox 5 WNYW-TV, he worked at KSNV TV Channel 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada which was his full-time job. While there, he served the station as a reporter and anchor for almost two years. In addition to that, he worked in Reno, and Chico as an anchor and reporter.
DeCastro debuted his first television job on a San Diego Cable Station after responding to an ad in the newspaper for a “Reporter.” Journalism is his second career; he traveled all over the world as a Lieutenant on a U.S. Navy Destroyer based in San Diego.
As for his education, he joined Boston University to further his education. After completing his studies there, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism.
