Barajas is a reporter who had also worked for other stations prior to joining KPRC-TV. For instance, he previously worked for KSAT 12 News in San Antonio where he served as a general assignments reporter from August 2013. Prior to that, his career in journalism started at KRGV-TV in the Rio Grande Valley where he served as a reporter.

This was after he graduated from the University of Houston in 2010 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism in Communication. While there, he worked for three years and received a great deal of experience covering immigration issues, human trafficking and drugs, and drug cartels operating south of the border. His work assignment includes three years at KRGV 5 in the Rio Grande Valley, where he started his career in July 2010.

Barajas has managed to enclose and interview important events and people including President George H. W. Bush’s funeral. In addition to that, he also covered the Pope’s visit to Juarez and the aftermath of Harvey. One of his favorite stories is having the opportunity to cover the San Antonio Spurs championship run.

He usually covered the crime beat, hence covering sports and the championship was a good change of pace. Barajas is also very active when it comes to his social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter as well as Instagram. Whenever he is not working, he finds pleasure in traveling and trying out new restaurants.
