Beth Hunt is an American News Anchor/Reporter currently working for KATV since joining the station in November of 2002. She currently anchors the evening newscasts at 6 pm and 10 pm, on weekdays. She began as a General Assignment Reporter at KATV Channel 7.
Hunt graduated from Carlisle High School in the year 1995. She then moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas, to pursue a degree in radio-television at Arkansas State University. Hunt decided to leap right into the TV after going to graduate school there as well. She spent a few months working behind the scenes at KATVĀ before starting her first reporting job in Fayetteville/Fort Smith. Hunt returned to central Arkansas and her KATV family 10 months later.

Hunt has covered everything from the excitement surrounding the first Razorback games of the year to the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library and the Space Shuttle Columbia accident. She followed General Wesley Clark on the campaign trail to Iowa and beyond in the year 2004, as he ran for the Democratic presidential nomination. Hunt has hosted live shows for Riverfest, Heifer International, Toadsuck, and a slew of other major festivals and events throughout the state. She’s also taken viewers inside the scenes of Good Morning America in New York City, where she interviewed Charlie Gibson, Robin Roberts, and Diane Sawyer in depth.
Hunt has received numerous honors. She was part of the anchor team that won an Emmy Award for Best Newscast, and her news reporting has earned her Associated Press honors. Beth has also been named Best of Arkansas in the category of “Best TV News Person” by the Arkansas Times readers on several occasions, most recently in the year 2014.
Governor Mike Beebe selected Hunt to the Arkansas Governor’s Council on Fitness in the year 2010. Also, she volunteers for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Big Sisters/Big Brothers, and the American Heart Association, among other organizations.
