Terry serves at KPLC as a meteorologist, where his forecasts appear at 7News Sunrise every morning and midday. Also, he casts weather on FOX 29 with the morning news. In 2006, Terry graduated from Mississippi State University’s on-campus Broadcast Meteorologist program. He then started his broadcasting career in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2011, he now joined KPLC-TV. He has been a part of important updates to KPLC’s weather technology over the years, including the most recent WSI weather system and the addition of the Skycam network. This has kept Southwest Louisiana up to current with the most up-to-date technology of storm tracking and forecasting.
Terry’s main objective is to keep the people of Southwest Louisiana safe from dangerous weather. The technology and resources that are available at KPLC help him do that since there is the availability of KPLC’s mobile apps and social media platforms for notifying the general public.
Terry is actively involved in the National Weather Association(NWA) and the American Meteorological Society(AMS). He is currently the former president of the Southeast Texas/Southwest Louisiana Chapter of the two organizations. Terry resides in Lake Charles, Louisiana, therefore, he looks forward to attending all annual meetings of the National Weather Association.
During his leisure, he volunteers for a variety of charitable organizations in Southwest Louisiana. The organizations include; the American Cancer Society, the Ad and Press Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Mississippi/Louisiana Chapter of the Colitis and Crohn’s Foundation, establishing a local support group for persons suffering from the diseases. In addition, he likes visiting local schools to encourage young kids that are interested in pursuing careers in the sciences during his free time. Also, meeting new people by volunteering to emcee a variety of charitable events in Southwest Louisiana.
