Frechette went to Northern Vermont University-Lyndon -formerly Lyndon State College and graduated after 4 years with his bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Sciences. Afterward, he completed NVU-Lyndon’s renowned broadcast meteorology program and is familiar with the local community.
Frechette was raised in Somerset, Massachusetts which is a place with an assortment of year-round active weather. You will find there harsh Nor’easters and blizzards, loud summertime thunderstorms, and more. This changing weather made him love meteorology when he was so young. Therefore, he decided to turn this passion into a profession.
Working at Fox sports is Ben’s first stint at a television station. Previously he was working in Maryland, where he forecasted the weather for energy and agricultural interests. Before then, Ben was providing weather updates to the Vermont Agency of Transportation while still in college. Actually, Ben is thankful for all those who have mentored him and helped him achieve his dream, to be who he is today.
Outside work, you will find him doing anything outdoors like hiking, he also wants to learn skiing. Additionally, Ben likes attending music festivals, especially in the jazz or electronic music categories.
